The Gitaza SDB Church in Burundi was terribly affected by storms and flooding. SDB CSA heard the call for help and voted to send funds to help the situation. The following report comes to us from the SDB Missionary Society

“The latest information from Gitaza is that there is still in an ongoing attempt to raise the rest of the funds needed to buy the land on higher ground to rebuild their church.  In the interim, a storm took the roof off of another church and they paused their rebuild project for Gitaza. Since Gatagura only needed a roof to provide a completed church they deposited the funds to complete Gitaza and had us focus raising support for Gatagura so the rains would not melt the existing unbaked bricks.  Gatagura is almost completed so soon they will return to work on reestablishing Gitaza.  Burundi has dozens of churches and scant resources among their congregations so things move slowly.  But they are making progress.”
